December 29, 2006 By: marvin Category: Model Kits, Gundam 2 Comments →

its been a good long while since the last time I built a gundam. however I was fortunate enough to find a little bit of extra time to build a new one. Athough I haven’t finished all the weapons on this particular gundam. I’m quite happy on how this kit turned out.

Gundam updates

December 27, 2006 By: marvin Category: Games, Gundam, Toys and Goodies, Geeky Gadgets No Comments →

I know gundam updates has been long overdue now. unfortunately since things have been real hectic these days, I haven’t been able to update myself and my blog up until now.
so here are the new gundam news I haven’t posted:

the Spirit of Zeon arcade game
a great way to de-stress yourself, go over to an gaming arcade and play this game, play as a zaku and shoot off some GM cannon fodder!

Gundam Musou
found this bit of news from DannyChoo.com. A PS3 Gundam variation of the PS2 game sangoku musou or otherwise known dynasty warriors. although I have a hard time imagining gundams making martial art moves against hordes of mobile suits, unless of course they plan on using MS from G Gundam.

SD Gundam Scad Hammer
Although it would probably be old news by now, I felt the need to mention the Wii game Gundam Scad Hammer at least once on my blog.check out the preview on youtube.

Gundam Evolve 14
Evolve14
Gundam Evolve is a series of short films featuring gundams from different timelines and series, created using CGI. this time however they decided to feature SD gundams. ^^

MG Crossbone Full Cross
ah yes, I’m still ranting about this release. the MG fullcross Crossbone. a slap on the face for people who decided to buy the earlier release MG Crossbone ver Ka. ^^

MG GP02a Physalis
the giant sized GP02a Physalis, one of the main gundams from stardust memory.

MG RX-93-?2 Hi-?
one among the most sought after Gundams, I remember seeing resin mods being sold of this particular gundam before. too bad for them Bandai decided to roll out a new MG version.

HGUC GM Quel
1/144 HG version of the GM Quel. AOZ’s cannon fodder. ^^

HG BuCUE
This 1/144 HG mobile suit is the Gundam world’s version of Zoid’s Liger. ^^

HG Civilian Astray DSSD Custom
I don’t know much about this particular mobile suit, however I assume the Civilian Astray would probably be some sort of gundam for local city law enforcement.

MSiA TR-1 Hazel
Although I’m not a fan of Bandai’s MSiA line, since I’m not at all impressed by the quality. however seeing pictures of this MSiA version of an AOZ gundam just might make me change my mind. ^^

HCM-Pro Qubeley
Another fine addition to the HCM-Pro line. the Qubeley. a strange looking mobile suit probably designed to look like a monster mosquito. ^^

Keroro Gunsou Plamo Collection Dororo Robo
Another Kero Gundam. ^^ cute, but not exactly my cup of tea. ^^

My Engagement

December 26, 2006 By: marvin Category: Stray Thoughts, Personal No Comments →

Double Happiness
It was quite the busy weekend for me. since saturday I left my gundam model clipper and airbrush at home to get engaged. ^^ We had a traditional Chinese engagement, however with the level of intricacy it had it might as well have been a wedding in itself. ^^ there were a lot of rituals and restrictions that had to be observed during the ceremony, however the in the interest of having a concise post, I’ll just describe the highlights of the event. the ceremony starts of when the groom-to-be with his family enters the soon to be bride’s home bearing gifts (flowers, jewelry, clothes, and sweets). Tea and sweets are served to the guests as they wait, until the fiancee enters the living room walking backwards. gifts are then presented to both of them in the form of a bracelet, a gold medallion and an expensive watch. the couple then exchanges rings, after which they offer tea to each other’s family. then finally share a meal with each other.

Revoltech Mazinkaiser

Revoltech Mazinkaiser
Revoltech’s Mazinkaiser. Revoltech has once again released a possable version of a giant robot icon. this time its Mazinkaiser. older anime fans might remember the good old Mazinger Z anime series where Kochi Kabuto rides a dingy propeller type vehicle that would rest on top of a giant robot head and battle gigantic robot beasts.

Then later on he was replaced my a similar robot named Great Mazinger who was later on replaced by a different robot named Grandaizer. however the most recent Incarnation is called Mazinkaiser. they probably dropped the idea of putting a “Z” at the end since it would sound confusing.
anyway here are some of the pictures I took. and more images posted on the gallery below
Revoltech Mazinkaiser
Head Detailing, although Revoltech figures do come real cheap. the details on them doesn’t really measure up to the same level as the Gundam Fix Figuration series.

Flying Revoltech Mazinkaiser
Revoltech Mazinkaiser stand
Flying pose made possible with the stand extension.

Revoltech Mazinkaiser double sword
Revoltech Mazinkaiser Giant Sword
Revoltech Mazinkaiser Giant Sword
Some poses woth the double sword and Giant sword. (sorry I do not know what it really called)

and now for a little humour. ^^
Hamlet?
Alas, poor EVA05 I knew him. ^^

Mazinkaiser Monroe

Gundam the Ride

December 17, 2006 By: marvin Category: Travels, weblinks, Gundam No Comments →

Got a bit of news from Gunota, seem that the Gundam Evolve site announces the closing of Gundam the Ride, an attraction ride at Fujikyu Highland Park. I didn’t know about this ride until now. makes me regret not stoping by Fujikyo Highland Park the last time I visited Japan. :(
