MG MS-06S Zaku II

MS-06S Zaku II
I know its been ages since I built a gundam, but since I had some time to spare during the monday holiday, I decided to take out the rusty ol’ gunpla clippers and work on the Char Aznable Zaku II.  At first I plan to build the Zaku II using the a sand-down-no-paint method. but as it turned out, I ended up using the lazy-no-sand-nor-paint-just-build method instead. lol! And though I don’t plan on painting this particular gunpla anymore (will probably just do the panel lines if I feel like it). I’m thinking that I should probably paint the next kit I’ll be building.
MS-06S Zaku II
which is not to say that feel like the MG Zaku II isn’t worth the effort, once done the MG Zaku II is definitely a great looking kit (even without painting). but what I especially liked about it was the individual fingers. although I did end up doing a bit of cutting between the last three fingers. the hands of the MG kit would still look good without that little bit of modding.
Char Stand
I got my hands on this Char action base a while back, even before I had a MS-06S Zaku II kit.
MG Zaku
needless to say, the stand is a prerequisite to have your Zaku look cool and do some aerial pose. ^^
MS-06S Zaku II
The MS-06S Zaku II is said to have a more powerful reactor and is reserved to higher ranking officers of the Principality of Zeon Army. It can be distinguished from a regular zaku by its antenna and more obviously by its red color. a fact that I found a bit strange, it’s like asking your officers to wear a bullseye while prancing around the battlefield. but I guess it isn’t half as bad as the Concert Zaku Warrior going off into battle

Transformers Animated

Fans of the original generation 1 transformers would probably die from shock when they see the new Transformers animation series by Cartoon Network: Transformers Animated. Guess its probably about time for the television network to cash in on the success of the motion picture. ^^; This series was origianally titled Transformers heroes, which seems more appropriate since they do look like superheroes from another Cartoon Network animated series Justice League (probably used the same artist). ^^
However, though the simplified large chested small feet artwork might have worked for human formed superheroes, quite frankly Transformers animated Optimus Prime makes Gorilla form beastwars Optimus Primal look like a GQ model. to add insult to injury it seems that this version of Optimus prime will be voiced by Megatron’s voice actor. leaving us wondering… as Ngee Khiong properly put it, “Is this really going to work”?

thanks to Ngee Khiong for the news.

Gundam Bears

Gundam Bears
while walking around a toystore I noticed these weird looking plastic bears. they were all made from similar molds but painted to look like different characters. and when I saw 2 of them painted to look like gundams, I thought I might as well get them since they weren’t all that expensive anyway. ^^
Gundam Bears
RX-78 and MK-II bears with their HCM-Pro counterparts. ^^

Tacsiyapo!

Although the bad weather has kept me from taking pictures of the breathtaking landscape of northern Philippines during a business trip, I was able to take pictures of a place in Gerona, Tarlac called Isdaan. Isdaan is a floating restaurant built on fish ponds filled with what looks like cambodian or balinese sculptures and of course fish (isda).

but what made the restaurant truly unique was the Tacsiyapo wall.
Tacsiyapo
a place where people release all the pent up rage by throwing ceramic tableware against a wall for a fee.
Tacsiyapo
the price per throw would depend on what sort of items one would like to smash against the wall, for 12 pesos (around .25 us cents) one can throw plates, 18 Pesos for bowls and if one truly feels beyond miffed for 1000 pesos ($20) one can smash a television set towards the wall.
 tacsiyapo
however one has to be careful when throwing stuff onto the wall, since the plates, mugs and other ceramic items are stratigically placed right on the front, there is a risk of taking up even more stressed if one ends up paying for collateral damage. :p
