Kotobukiya Mechanical Chain Base
Have just recently got myself a couple of Mechanical Chain Base by Kotobukiya, and I gotta say it comes quite handy whenever one needs to put one’s gundam (or any other scale model) in a Base repair scene. ^^ however I did find each base by itself a bit too small, probably just the right size for those 1/144 kits or GFF’s.
as pictured above, one can use the base individually, put them together sideways or on top of each other. one could probably even buy a whole lot of these and fill their wall with it. ^^ the 001 Mechanical Chain Base includes a trolley truck and hooks to hang weapons and stuff. 002 includes a movable elevating platform which can be interchanged with a clamp arm. and finally the 003 comes with a wall mounted walkway and what looks like 2 supply trucks.
as for me I decided to only get four of these. ^^
here you can see how it takes four Mechanical Chain Base to accommodate a 1/100 MG Hi-Nu Gundam.
one thing I didn’t like about it though was that the plastic surface reflected a lot of light, then again its probably nothing a little topcoat or matte spray paint can’t fix.

Nice you see you back blogging.
The base may look good painted and weathered too.

hey Danny, thanks. glad to hear from you as well.
I was thinking about painting it. but your right, weathering would make it look great. however weathering isn’t exactly one of my better skill.
