Beat Angel Escalayer

September 26, 2007 By: marvin Category: Figures and Gashapons, Toys and Goodies No Comments →

Beat Angel Escalayer
Beat Angel Escalayer was one of the figures I got at a toy sale. I figured it look good and had a better looking price tag on it. what I didn’t know was that she was an Eroge character. lol! then again, as long as the figure looks good on my display shelf. who am I to complain.
Beat Angel Escalayer
the figure itself was beautifully sculpted, makes me wonder if it gives the character on the eroge any justice. I’ve seen the images posted on wikipedia, which leaves me thinking that the figure looks a lot nicer than the character in actual animation.
Beat Angel Escalayer
I’m not quite sure if she defends the earth from hostile Aliens or supernatural demons, but by the looks of her gun I’d say Aliens. ^^
Beat Angel Escalayer
what was also nice about the figure, aside from her figure. ^^; was the feel of how her clothes flow from the side.
Beat Angel Escalayer
the hair though looked nice up front seem strange from the top or the back, it looks like pink tentacles… then again since she is an eroge character. I can’t shake the image in my mind of how she uses her hair. (o.O)>

check out the gallery for more images. speaking of images, people who like the Beat Angel Escalayer might want to check out the pictures taken by HappySoda. his pictures makes mine look like I was taking pictures of a pink toilet brush. :p

MG Strike Freedom Decals

September 25, 2007 By: marvin Category: Model Kits, Gundam 2 Comments →

It seems like work has been driving me nuts lately,  fortunately I had the weekends to wind down and relax, and spent some of that time to put some decals on to the MG Strike Freedom I built a week ago. ^^

I can’t seem to remember where in the web I ordered these Strike Freedom decals, although I do remember Subaruhess from Figure.fm refered the site to me a while back. but if I ever remember the url and the name of the decal printers I’ll just edit and add the name onto this post.

Decals have a way of making gunplas look cool although thinking about it a bit more, I wonder if the acutally apply labels on armaments in the real world. it feels kinda silly going into a battle and anouncing to the enemy the armaments that you carry. hey driver of the Destiny Gundam wanna see my MA-M21KF high-energy beam rifle? taste some lead from my MMI-M15E “Xiphias 3? rail cannon! I bet you don’t have a MGX-2235 “Callidus” multi-phase beam cannon mounted on the torso like I do… well you get the point. lol ^^;
although it does help non-enthusiast or people who are new to Gundams to identify them if they had labels on their stands.

now my Strike Freedom looks a bit more pimped up.

unfortunately in the attempt to protect the decals, I used mr. super clear on my strike freedom unknowingly that one should not use it during hot and humid condition. This is how it looked like after application
MG Strike Freedom ruined
my Strike Freedom looks like it had a battle in a snow storm.  I’m thinking of repainting it, but I get too depressed just by looking at it. (T-T) maybe next time after I get to build a MG Destiny. then again I could probably capitalize on my mistake and make a diorama of the two gundam in a snow battle… but I’ll just have to save that thought for next time. ^^

Gundam vs Gundam Arcade Game

September 18, 2007 By: marvin Category: Games, Gundam 8 Comments →

It’s been a while since I’ve read and relayed any Gundam news on my blog.
but this bit of info was too good not to post. the snippet below was originally from AnimeNewsNetwork, swiped copied and sticked into this post by yours truly. Although it looks like they got the news from the undisputed Gundam King Gunota in the first place.

Edit: you can also check out the Game’s Official Site for details, that is if you can read Japanese. ^^

In March of 2008, Namco Bandai’s Banpresto subsidiary will offer the Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam robot fighting arcade game, which will cover 15 Gundam titles for the first time in the Gundam vs. sub-franchise. The game will feature units from all Gundam television series from the first Gundam to Gundam Seed Destiny, as well as from all theatrical features and the first three video series (Gundam 0080, 0083, The 08th MS Team). CAPCOM developed six hit Gundam vs. games for Banpresto already. Banpresto is exhibiting this System-256-hardware-based game at this week’s 2007 Amusment Machine Show.

Strike Freedom Zaft White - Kira Yamato Customize

September 17, 2007 By: marvin Category: Model Kits, Gundam 23 Comments →

I was thinking of calling this Gundam the Absolute Freedom, however since I did just base the color scheme from Keita’s work, it just doesn’t seem right to personally rename the Gundam. so as homage to his artistic work, I’m keeping the name as it is. the “Strike Freedom Zaft White - Kira Yamato Customize”.

I’m not exactly Finished with the kit yet, there are some unpainted sprue marks I have to clean out. which is one of the problems faced when painting the parts on the runners. ^^; I also haven’t started on the rifles, since I was too lazy to start work with masking tape.
White Strike Freedom
Needless to say, Keita’s White Stirke Freedom kicks seven billion shades of crap off my inept excuse of a copy. however I’m still happy how the kit turned out. I personally prefer this color scheme on the Strike Freedom as compared to the original white and blue. As most kids would probably think, good guys should always wear white. Unless of course you’re one of Darth Vaders Stormtroopers. ^^ no offence meant to Danny of course. ^^;

Though the truth is I thought that the 1/100 scale Strike Freedom would be a bit bigger. However regardless of my preconceptual notions on the Strike Freedom’s size. the great thing about the it is that the mobile suit design leaves little room for improvements. although this would probably be a counter advantage for people itching to use their scratch building skills. but for people like me whose scratch building skill are limited to paper boats and airplanes, all I can say is that the Strike Freedom would still look cool enough even without any form of customization, plus it was actually a fun kit to build. A MG kit worth buying for any Seed or non-Seed Gundam fans.

gunpla organizer

September 14, 2007 By: marvin Category: Tutorials, Model Kits, Gundam 6 Comments →

Started to build the Strike Freedom a few days ago but was fed up with sifting though the box for parts letters. I wonder if most gundam model builders face this kind of problem as well. the truth is sifting and searching for parts might just eat up just a few minutes from your gundam building time, but then again, wouldn’t those few minutes be better off used on actual gundam building? ^^
I always thought the problem with searching for parts arises from the lack of being organized. So what I used to do is to arrange the parts by stacking them up together by alphabetical order. However the problem is getting parts at the bottom. this would mean I’d have to take out the ones on top, checking the letters as you go down. then after using the part sheet, I’d have to put it back onto the stack again. everything of which might have took more time than just sifting through the box for a parts letter. I guess what I needed was a way to get the part in the middle without having to pull the rest out.
organizer
luckily enough I wound this nifty little file organizer down at Japan Home Center. they sell everything for 88 pesos, thats about $2, about the same price as items on Daiso. Unfortunately I couldn’t find their website, but the closes thing I could find was this blog entry.
organizer
now I have my parts stacked diagonally, so I can find and take out the numbered parts with ease then just stick them back in when done. it saves me a bit more time and makes the job of finding parts a whole lot easier. the only problem I can think of now is that with the number of lettered parts the strike freedom has, I got myself only one organizer. doh! :p
organized!
having the file organizer for stacking parts helped me on my gunpla building, but I would guess that more gunpla builders out there might have better ways of organizing their parts. if so feel free to share your wisdom and drop a comment or link on this post. ^^
