Wide Angle Lens
Had my EOS 400D digital camera for a while now, but it’s only recently that I got my grubby mitts on an EF-S 10-22mm F3.5-4.5 USM super wide angle lens, when my sis-in-law got me one from her Singapore trip.
Although I’ve always wanted a wide angle lens, I’ve always thought my old EF-S 17-85MM f4-5.6 IS USM was good enough for shooting in tight spots or just for getting everything in a single shot. but it wasn’t until I got to use a real wide angle lens did I feel my old lens was a bit inadequate.
here is a shot of my display shelves using the new lens. unlike my old shots, this image captures everything. however, there is a problem of the lens’ protruding shadow when taking shots using the built-in flash. ![]()
however it works great when taking outdoor shots.
here I’m trying it out on a live animal.
as well as non-living ones. ^^
the lens does deform a bit on the edges, turning this Gundam bear into a big headed SD. ^^
Finally, of course I’d have to try the lens out on my Gundams. ^^; although does it make their legs a bit shorter. ^^

Interesting, as I am thinking of buying this exact lens, but unsure if it’s an improvement over the standard 18-55mm lens. But really, anything is better than the standard lens. But still, I wouldn’t be using a wide angle lens for anything macro wise like Gundams or figures.

you mean the default lens that comes with the camera. lol yup any lens would probably be an iprovement. ^^ regarding on using the lens for macro gundam and figures. just wanted to experiment on it. probably try to make them look larger than they really are. ^^;
