Turn A Gundam
Finally done with the Turn A Gundam, as it turned out the gundam was actually an easy build. but one thing that made it easier was the labels on the part runners.
this makes finding parts a whole lot easier. ^^
A more seasoned gundam builders would probably pre-build their gundams before painting the individual parts, I however usually paint the part while they are still on the runners. (call me mr. lazy bum) ^^. Painting it this way saves a lot of time, but isn’t without drawbacks. as it turned out, I ended up wasting paint on parts I end up covering in the end. like using up a can of gunmetal paint on the Turn A’s internals. ^^;
even worst, ended up not using enough paint on a part, like the blue part on the Turn A Gundam’s stomach.
one thing I was lucky to find however was parts to mod the gundam hammer or morning star. my wife suggested I find a cheap chain bracelet from a local girl’s accessory store. as it turned out I got myself a chain bracelet for a little over two USD. a real good deal for my gundam’s ball and chain. ^-^
btw Win XP users would probably notice the background as the bliss wallpaper. ^^;
a final note before the gallery, though it’s more of a question to anyone who has watched the Turn A Gundam series. The Turn A’s back legs kinda reminds me of a swiss army knife. building the MG kit made me wonder, why does it look that way? did they run out of materials to build armor plating for it? does it serve any purpose? do I ask to much questions? ^^ in any case it can’t be as bad looking as the gundam’s mustache. lol (^V^)
the Turn A turned. sexy legs or varicose vein infested swiss army knife looking legs? ^^;
finally the Turn A Gundam gallery. ^^ sorry no cow shots. ^^ although thinking about it now, the cow would have probably fit perfectly with the Window’s XP Bliss background. ^^;

oh I forgot to mention, for those interested, this gundam comes with individual fingers. ^^

Nice work! I like the background you chose for the Gundam, it’s very fitting when you consider the atmosphere of the series. In particular, I like the shots of the Turn A with the the modded morning star.

Hey Otaku Surf, glad you like it. ^^

For my first painted Gundam I prebuilt the model. Next time though, I might try the runner painting. To see how much time it saves.
The new labels look good. I often find myself digging through the runners in fear of breaking the parts…
The shots are nice. I somehow recognized the background, but couldn’t really point it out, hehe.

Phamolous, they are nice aren’t they? (the labels) I’m hoping Bandai would keep the labels that way for the succeeding productions. hopefully the MG Destiny would have the same labels. ^^

lol. read about you painting the part while they are still on the runners. I can assure you that you’re not the only one. I do that too all the time.
btw regarding the use of gunmetal paint on the Turn A’s internals, which brand of spray paint and what was the color no. that you use for it?
September 9th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
Jacques, glad to know we paint the same way. ^^ I used Tamiya spray paint TS-38 Gunmetal. ^^ I use to use the same color with an airbrush so I’m quite sure it comes in paint bottles as well.

BTW, the swiss-army looking like thing behind the legs are supposedly the vents of the Gundam’s boosters. Instead of having the typical verniers, the turn A designers made it look like the F-117’s exhausts.

Gab, thank you for making me wiser. ^^ I guess that would mean the Turn A Gundam is able to fly, or at least jump real high.
September 10th, 2007 at 10:20 am
Guess so, never watched the show, but I have yet to see a Gundam that can’t jump lol.
September 10th, 2007 at 10:32 am
hmm… probably the Guntank. ^^ although I guess strictly speaking the Guncannon and the Guntank aren’t Gundams. ^^; lol
September 10th, 2007 at 10:41 am
Wasn’t the guntank able to use jets to get it back into White Base?
September 10th, 2007 at 10:52 am
ah I stand corrected. lol. ^^;

Aside from being used as boosters, it’s also used to release its nanomachines when moonlight butterfly’s activated.

E.E.E, you lost me at moonlight. lol but will google it. thanks for the info.

That’s not a mustache. It’s the V-fin thingy not normal gundams, except it’s on the chin. That’s why it’s called TURN A gundam, not A gundam.
April 12th, 2008 at 12:09 am
it’s not actually called turn a gundam. it’s called ∀ gundam, the inverted A means ‘For All’ so the series and the title gundam are actually called ‘For All Gundam’
April 12th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
its easier to type turn A than ∀. ^^
June 5th, 2008 at 8:14 am
I’m not sure if we share the same opinion, for me the “For All” Gundam is like the advanced RX-78-2 of the future. They both share the same color scheme, two sabers at the shoulders, both have gundam hammers and core docking facilities are present.
About their story line, I’m not sure if they are similar (as with the comparison between the First Gundam and Gundam Seed)— I haven’t had the chance to watch the Turn A series
June 5th, 2008 at 10:29 am
I haven’t watched the series as well. ^^;

i watch the series. roland cehack is the pilot. the first gundam and turn A storyline are different. i built my turn A unpainted and it still look so good.
about using chain bracelet its a good idea, thanks alot:)

thank you Poirot
July 15th, 2008 at 7:46 am
it’s actually one of the strongest (if not most the powerful gundam).
it did destroy every single piece of technology in earth after all.
the storyline of turn-a envelops every other series, including the alternate timelines.
u.c., wing, x, ect. were shown in historical clips in turn-a’s very distant past, known then as the “dark history”
thanks for the review, i was hesitant at first to get this MG kit, but now i’m happy that i did
July 15th, 2008 at 10:54 am
seven, u wont regret buy this white doll MG kit. i hope bandai will make the TURN-X MG kits also SUMO and KAPOOL
July 16th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
seven, really. hmm… sounds like a cool show, will probably pick that up as soon as I have the time. although I shudder to think that the future of all gundams would end up with a mustache. ^^;
Poirot, glad to hear you have the kit too. ^^
