NZ-333 Alpha Azieru
Another 1/400 scale Gundam Collection release is the NZ-333 Alpha Azieru. and like the previously released GP03 Dendrobium and the AMX-002 Neue Ziel, it came prepainted and detailed out of the box.
This giant sized mobile armor was first featured in Chars Counterattack piloted by the gifted but naive young pilot Quess Paraya, then again in the same sequence on Gundam Evolve battling ace pilot Amuro Ray in the Nu Gundam. (watch the Gundam Evolve sequence on you tube)
Although the mobile suit didn’t get much action in mobile armor mode, I do prefer the odd bird/insect look as compared to the monolith mobile armor mode of the Psycho Gundam or the lame duck mobile armor mode of the Destroy Gundam.
The NZ-333 Alpha Azieru was meant to be the strongest mobile weapon in the Neo Zeon arsenal, and as a testament to that it did battle the legendary Amuro Ray in the Nu Gundam and survived. however in the end it was too easily destroyed by Chan Agi in a badly damaged Re-GZ.

I was just playing a modded starcraft game for the pc based on Gundam and saw the Alpha Azieru and wondered what it was. Now I know!
I just noticed the scale of the mecha with the sazabi and hi nu, that thing is gigantic.

I saw that mod once. too bad I wasn’t yet a gundam fan then, I would have egged my friend for a copy. speaking of starcraft the new one is coming out soon.
about the size, yep its gigantic. good thing the model is just 1/400. a 1/100 azieru would probably have taken up the whole room. ^^
