Japan Day 1: Grand Prince Akasaka Hotel
I wouldn’t have expected much on our first day in Japan since we practically spent more than half the day traveling. But in the end, I’d have to say the day was full of pleasant experiences.
As soon as we arrived in Japan, we got out of immigration, claimed our luggage and got out of the airport just in time to ride the Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka. Funny thing about the Limousine bus thought, the first time I heard about it, I said “heeeey, Limousine!”
but as it turned out it was just a name, and what came to pick us up was 100% bus and 0% Limousine. ^^; but still, it was still a comfortable ride to the hotel.
the image above was taken at night, although we did arrive at our hotel around 3pm.
The hotel room was quite nice, and had a modern contemporary feel to it.
the view outside was nice as well, during the day as well as at night.
but what had my wife raving was the bathroom.
it seem as though it was made out of plastic molded just right for the room dimensions. Danny of DannyChoo.com had a blog entry about it a while back, check out his site more info. however what was would literally get first time Japan visitor to jump off their seats was the Japanese washlet.
even bidet users (myself included) would get the crap knocked out off their behinds from the features these extrodinary toilet seats have.
“No need to hire someone to constantly sit on the crapper for you, the washlet keeps the toilet seat warm with one push of a button”. ^^ one can also control the amount of pressure the water sprays on oneself. and if one’s bathroom is the size of a hotel lobby, a special type of washlet that comes with a SD slot to play classical music from mp3. ^^
