GFF 1002 MRX-009 Psycho Gundam
The second large scale GFF after the GFF 1001 the 1/100 RX-78-2, the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam. however strictly speaking, one cannot call it a large scale gundam since the scale is still 1/144. so if that is the case, I guess I should probably just call it a large gundam. ^^;
the Psycho Gundam was introduced during the Zeta Gundam series and was piloted by an equally psycho-pilot named Four Murasame the love interest of the main character of the series Kamile Bidan. plot sounds familiar? yes, the plot has been reused on the Gundam Seed Destiny series between ace pilot Shin Asuka and the even-more-crazy-psychotic-killer-chick Stellar Loussier.
and like the Gundam piloted by Stellar Loussier (Destroy Gundam) the Psycho Gundam also has a MA mode. although truth be told I like the Destroy’s lame duck MA mode better than the Psycho Gundam’s monolith like MA configuration.
here is a size comparison between the 1/144 GFF MRX-009 Psycho Gundam and the 1/200 HCM-Pro GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam. although on equal scale the Psycho Gundam should be a little taller based on head height, however the Destroy should still be the bigger gundam since it has the cannon and backpack mounted on its back. check out the stat figures for the Destroy Gundam and Psycho Gundam on MAHQ
however, since we are talking about a GFF here, the difference in details between the two should not be anywhere close.
and sure enough, the level of details on the Psycho Gundam makes the ones on the Destroy Gundam look like chicken scrapes on dirt.
even the tiny writing on the shield looks like actual writing and not just printed lines.
which is not to say the HCM-Pro Destroy Gundam is a piece of poo… just that the GFF Psycho Gundam is of a differnet class. ^^
finally a little bit of humor images before the Psycho-gallery:
although the image might not pose as something humorous for people who never got to watch Gundam Seed Destiny, I did get a kick of posing the freedom battling the Psycho Gundam in place of the Destroy. ^^
Kamile: nooo! wrong TV series you dweeb!
Four: urk..
Kira: whoops sorry wrong set.
I call this last shot, “Bandai loves the environment”. ^^ then again the shaped styrofoam does a great job of protecting the expensive plastic gundam in it.
