Japan Day 6: Fuji San, Hakone
one of the things one should do when they visit Tokyo is to take a day to visit Mount Fuji. fortunately the tour package I took included a trip to Hakone. what was unfortunate however was we took the trip during a national holiday, which meant trafffic was at its worst. but still one would find that it was a trip worth braving, as soon as Fuji san pops into view.
the gift shop at one of the stations sold these interesting Fuji mobile phone dangling things. here you’ll find a blue Fuji, a pink Fuji, and the best: the fleshy Fuji. ^^
Hakone is another destination near mount Fuji. It is most famous for its hot springs and ryokans with a view of Fuji san. Check out Danny’s post on Hakone for more info on Hakone. incidently since most of my pictures of hakone didn’t turn out so nice, you can check out his pictures of Hakone with all the beautiful snow. Besides, his pictures makes mine look like hazy images of green boogers anyway. ^^; but for the sake of comparison as well as humiliation here are the better images I took on the road to Hakone. ^^
Somewhere in Hakone they sell these black eggs cooked from the hot volcanic sulfur steam. They say if one eats one of these eggs, seven years would be added to one’s life. then again if one eats too much of these in one seating, it’ll surely put an end to one’s life. ^^
