Day 7: Togo Shrine Flea Market
Every first sunday of each month, many Japanese people would take out unwanted clutter from their home and take it to Togo shrine to sell it out as antiques. ^^;
The Togo Shrine flea market happens every first sunday of the month, the shrine is located in Harajuku. so if one gets bored from looking around antiques you could always turn around the corner and check out the more lively area of Harajuku.
but don’t sell the Flea Market short, there might be some cool finds there as well. I myself got me a samurai helmet fo a meazly 2000 yen. ^^
this would come in quite handy to wear, whenever I watch those Hiro Nakamura and Takezo Kensei scenes from Heroes. ^^;

Please I would like to know how to get there from Fussa Tokyo, I am coming from FUssa American base, I want to visit the TOGO shrine flea market, how to get there by Ome Line train.
Please help me with this.

Hi Charity, I’m sorry but I rode a cab going there so I don’t know how else to go there. although the shrine is located somewhere near Harajuku. I believe there might be a subway exit somewhere near the shrine.

i got some information that the togo shrine is open on the last sunday of the month as well. true?
if not, do you have any suggestions for antique/flea markets on the last weekend of july 08?

Hmm… I think I stumbled upon a market like this outside the Meiji Jingu shrine. Do they have flea markets at all such major temples?
