Gundamaniac

Recently I had a couple of packages delivered via DHL and although Tachikoma arrived without a hitch, my books from Amazon had a few complications. all was well and forgivable (since I was just all too happy about Tachikoma) until their consigned courier decided they didn’t want to deliver the package because it drizzled for an hour earlier this morning. I got fed up and sent them an email:

I would like to formally file a complaint to DHL Philippines. I had a package delivered from amazon.com via DHL. upon arriving in the Philippines your office contacted me and said I had to pay additional charges for my package to be delivered to my home. and even though I know I’ve already paid for shipping via Amazon I conceeded to pay the extra charge to have it delivered today. however this afternoon we recieved a call saying they could not deliver the package because of the little DRIZZLING rain.
I believe that DHL has made a good name for itself and my experience may have been a one-time incident. however I do believe I have an obligation to call it to your attention so as to make sure this would not happen again to your other clients as well as to myself.

by the way if anyone was wondering, the value of the items in the package was a little under $300usd, DHL charged me over $100usd, and when it arrived I was told I had to pay another $117usd for tax, duties, handling and local delivery.

Decided to adopt a Tachicoma a few days ago. Unfortunately I couldn’t get them locally so I had to order him online. I got one via YesAsia, I still couldn’t believe that they got it to me in three days.

The word Dennou is composed of two words, Den which means electric, and nou which is brain; put them together it means Computer. ^^

Couldn’t help but open the package as soon as I got me grubby mitts on it. ^^ Funny thing was I shook me head when I found out most of the air freight paid for was to deliver air from Japan via Hongkong. ^^ What was in the Tachikoma package was a manual, CD drivers, USB cable and Tachikoma himself.

Like any other Chogokin, Tachikoma was real heavy. The package says 60% of it is metal. Didn’t count on it being this small though. Not that I’m complaining, I still think he was worth it. ^^


Once plugged in and software installed Tachikoma will start flashing his lights and twitch his middle eye. Tachikoma can be programmed to speak on scheduled time to remind you of appointments as well. However you’d have to have your computer and the program up and running to do this. ^^; you can also use Tachikoma as your computer speakers and make him sing some of your mp3’s ^^

Overall Tachikoma is a good buy, but truth be told, at first I thought I was buying this: ^^;

More wallet burning images via Ngee Khiong. the MRX-101 Psycho Gundam MK-II. makes me wish I could send me old Psycho gundam back to bandai for an upgrade trade. ^^; hope they don’t paint it as bright as the CGI image on the left. ^^

also on Ngee Khiong’s blog was another image of the GFF0038 Gundam MK-III. wonder why the text on the image says Gundam Mk-II. ^^;

 
First there was classic mystery books, then there was Hollywood blockbuster maker/director. now there’s legendary comic book creator. Spiderman and X-men creator Stan “the man” Lee teams up with Shaman King’s Hiroyuki Takei to create a new manga series Karakuridōji Ultimo. the story:

The story of Ultimo revolves around two figures — Vice and Ultimo — who appear in the skies above Farmless City. Their super-powered clashes bring destruction upon the city and raises the questions of their origins and aims.

The manga will be featured on the premiere issue of Jump Square II, Image of Ultimo and Vise from the official site and news via Anime News Network.

Edit2: No suprise that Stan Lee doesn’t speak a word of Japanese but according to Woho of Badlands of my mind, Hiroyuki Takei doesn’t speak english either. wonder how they got everything done right, hopefully no ideas were lost in translation. check out the first chaper on one manga. thanks to Woho.
