Bandai Ecopla Gundam
Bandai’s hobby center will be open to the public during the events of the Shizuoka Hobby Show as reported earlier on this month. I didn’t post anything about the exclusive Ecopla gundams since I didn’t have an image to show you guys, however since Ngee Khiong was able to find and post some images of the ecopla, I thought I might do a quick post on it. ^^ Thanks for the image Ngee Khiong!

Bandai also mentioned that they would be selling their limited HGUC ecopla. As the name suggests, they’re gunpla are made out of recycled materials thus these are eco-friendly gunpla. I’m not sure how much a HGUC gundam go for these days, but it seems like these Ecopla come real cheap as well, 1000yen!?! that’s probably priced close to a speed grade kit.

Hi Marvin, thanks for the link again.
The prices for these four ecoplas are actually the same as their original HGUCs (Years back HGUCs weren’t as complicated, and expensive as they are nowsday ^^;).
I really wonder what materials they use for these ecoplas.

no problem Ngee Khiong, thanks for finding the images. ^^
I’m thinking they are probably made out of gunpla scrap runners. ^^;

Hmmm…it would be good, if they were good in comparison with plain HGUC *in material, of course*. Maybe then prices on oil wouldn’t affect them as much as it is…

hi Dark Phoenix, problem with using recycled materials is probably the quality assurance/control. if bandai do decide to use recycled materials for gunpla they would have to invest on QA failsafe which in turn would drive up the price anyway. ^^;
releasing a eco-friendly limited series in the other hand would not require a permanent QA mechanism
