RX-78-2 Gundam Ver 2.0
Also from Gunpla Secret Factory and Pam’s Homepage via Gundam King Gunota. but figured it needed a separate post. the upcoming RX-78 Gundam Ver. 2.0. Am not liking the shoulders and lack of panel lines, however I guess it’s supposed to look as close to the anime version as possible.
Edit: image of internal frame via Ngee Khiong who is eagerly collecting Shizouka info as well. ^^

Could the reason why the shoulder is made so small be that this 78 2.0 has to be adapted to the G-Armor??

cant wait the figure when will this release? god, I have ver 1.5, OYW, and the perfect gundam RX78-2, but this one…….one word…..PERFECT to the animation design……..the transparent piece is special version? have to purchase separately?

Alan, don’t think there’s a release date yet, regarding the transparent one, that might be a custom made one, just for the hobby show. ^^;

I think the Bandai usually will release some transparent set as special version after the original version after a year

yes I do. I use to use an airbrush, but nowadays I use can spray paint to save a bit of time. ^^
about the transparent set, they might, but I’m willing to bet it’ll be available in Japan only. same thing happened with the exia a while back. ^^

icic, is can spray more costly then usinf airbrush? mind share which brand of can spray shd I use as a start?

I use Tamiya modeling paint. If you’re planning to build a number of kits in the future, using an airbrush is actually cheaper in the long run. only problem is I sometimes find myself with a deficit of time to clean up after working on a kit, so I ended up using spray cans. however airbrushes do give you more control over painting kits thus the finish would turn out nicer.

Just one note: I suggest buying regular spray cans instead of the Tamiya ones for normal colours. I don’t know about you, but a can of Tamiya paint costs 9 bucks at the local model store. But for specific colours, use Tamiya paint (I spray gunship gray just because it’s too much of a hassle to paint all the gray parts and I don’t know the colour composition)

GNdynames, from my experience regular spray paint tend to chip off when you inadvertently flex the plastic while posing the gundam. then again its probably because I don’t usually sand before painting. ^^;

The PG previously release was very similar to ver1.5(actually is ver1.5 follow the PG) so I think is different mould from ver2. I hope there is PG base on Ver 2 hahhahaa ( -_-” guess is unlikely )

I guess ver2 RX78 not yet out….I will wait for that too….beside the outlook same like the animation, the inner body is more interesting for RX78 ver2^^
so far I have is Amaro’s Gundam, RX78ver1.5 to ver2 and Red Char MS(except the Sazabi n Zeon), put all those those one eye villain for photo is vy cools…………

Poirot, I’m not sure about that one. never seen the crystal mode.
Alan, as Danny mentioned during my last visit to Japan, Bandai probably feels that they make more money out of MG kits since the turn around is much faster, PGs are more expensive so less people buy them, thus making it a slower moving commodity which is not exactly good for business. so in effect bandai would much rather release new MG kits than another PG.

i have seen a crystal mode rx 78 theres also a core booster in local bazaar, the kit already complete so i dont see its box.
its about 2 month ago.

About the crystal mode rx 78, I dont see them in real so far, I guess it being sometime ago but only in the website, try this ” http://www.dalong.net/ ” great web for Gundam model, click on the “MG” on the top left. So far only RX78-1 ver1, ver1.5 & ver2 got core booster. if u like crystal mode, maybe wait for the ver2 to come out, the inner body for ver2 is great.

…really happy with it, js the pieces on the back of the foot white color one, which join to the ankle plate, easy to to came out…..hmmmm…from the dalong.net look very attached….

HG recently also improve alots…example the Nu & Sazabi look very nice(fr the web, I not yet get them, coz I save my budget for one more RX78-2 ver2) ^^
