Anime Cosplay Fiasco
I’m not really a big fan of cosplay. and apart from the usual bouts of halloween trick or treat as a kid, I have never worn an anime inspired costume before. although it is not to say that I do not appreciate the novelty of seeing people in costumes walking around in your average everyday places like the mall or in the streets, the intricacy of a well-made costume, and the accuracy of a cosplayer’s rendition of a 2D character.

A while back, I remember a friend told me about an interview she did regarding a famous Cosplayer. I didn’t give it much thought then, thus I never realized how well-known she was up until lately when a commenting war ensued on dannychoo.com a few days ago. Danny posted on his news item section an image of one of the most duly noted cosplayers in the Philippines Blackmage9 Alodia Gosiengfiao. the comment match on the post went so bad as considerate Danny Choo ended up having to clean up all the tripe off his site.

Alodia seems to do well with her cosplay. And with disregard for all the relentless battering of inept naysayers, I sincerely hope she will continue on doing her cosplaying for folks who have an appreciation and passion for it.

Mike Abundo, I agree, wonder why filipino are awfully fond of acting the crab. btw I see you have posted about it already. ^^
Raging Otaku Ivan, I’m not familiar with pedicab. new singing group? will see if I can catch it on mtv
Gordon, looks nice. ^^ I’m just sorry Danny, you and everybody else had to see filipino crab mentality in action like that. and especially sorry to Danny for having his worst hate mail spur from such mentality.

Haha, two words: “face palm.”
Aside from crab mentality, there’s also the “boohoo our country so pathetic, let’s all whine about it” way of thinking. I had a ball commenting on that “rundown areas” post.

lol, was thinging of going into our more depressed areas and snap a picture to post in his site, unfortunately bringing a DSLR to a squatters area isn’t exactly that good an idea.

Haha, you’d be surprised! Pinoys are camwhores by nature ;). Depends where you go too, like the guys at the Habitat for Humanity communities are super nice. We went to this community in Balara (somewhere in Mandaluyong) for an outreach thing before. They’re pretty organized and really nice.

Mars, lol have posted one on DannyChoo.com but took it from afar. had bad memories of being mobbed by clamoring squatters once while handing out relief goods. don’t want to experience that again.
T-T
Raging Ivan Otaku, lol will try to check it out.
