Bonifacio High Street
Realized that it has been a while since I did a, “places to visit in Manila” post. so here’s one. Bonifacio High street, located in Fort global City. The area used to be an American military base called Fort William McKinley, turned over to the Philippine government and renames as Fort Bonifacio then later on converted into a upscale commercial and residential park.

although Bonifacio High Street contains mostly shops and restaurants, there are a number of residential areas nearby to keep the place sprawling with people.

It’s also quite possibly the only place in the Philippines one might find a five story books store (including the basement where they keep all the comics and manga).

however the place is more known for the restaurants than shopping.

The area is situated right at the boundary of two cities, Makati and Taguig. And quite surely both cities fought over jurisdiction.

in the end however, a court ruling gave the area to Taguig. Probably because the city had no other notable places to put itself into the commercial and touristy area map.

finally some of the eats there. these ones are from a restaurant named Chelsea. ^^

lol, Makati cops seem to be better at doing their jobs, I heard they don’t even accept bribes. then again High Street Bonifacio is in Taguig, so no Makati cops there. ^^
