GFF 0018 RX-78-4 Gundam G04
The previously reviewed GFF 0018 Gundam Alex doesn’t have the Chobham armor attachments however it does have parts to change the GFF to the RX-78-4 Gundam G04.
the Gundam G04 is almost identical to the red G05 except that it carries a Hyper Beam Cannon instead of a Gattling gun.
The GFF requires a lot of parts to be replaced but is quite easy to snap fit and turn into the G04.
one thing I found strange though was the beam rifle saber, it looks like it’s blinking out and running low on power. ^^;
imo the gundam looks much better in this form. it’s almost as if this GFF was meant to be released as the G04 rather than the Alex. also holding true to the Katoki tradition, this gundam is full of those wonderful and elegantly placed marking that we all love.

Is it possible to use the 78-4 parts on the new Alex?

unfortunately no, the new Alex uses a completely different frame.

I always like gundam G04 more than the G05 because of its colour scheme and its weapon. The colour scheme of G05 is weird for me and its weapon is kinda weak.^^

Mendagu, the Hyper Beam Cannon is one mean weapon. it wiped out a fleet with one shot, unfortunately that one shot also totaled Gundam and killed the pilot. ^^;

The G04 does have a lot more going on in its design than the Alex does in its plain form but I prefer Chobham armored Alex more. You got the best of two worlds ^^
And not to be nitpicking your typos, but I think you meant to refer to the beam “sabers” and not the rifle that is blinking low on power? ^^; That is some silly paintjob though… not sure I like the alternating pink and white.
